La Plagne ski resort has 12 villages to choose from. Montchavin and Les Coches are ideal for a child-friendly trip, with nurseries, crèches and ski schools for kids. RosieL, I'd go to Saas Fee over la Rosiere anytime (budget permitting) and almost anywhere else over la Rosiere anything being equal. Why ? la Rosiere is rubbish. Rubbish snow (South facing, windy / icy), rubbish slopes, rubbish value, really really rubbish mountain restaurants. Great for ski in ski out on boring pistes though. The resort is pretty with lots of red blue and green runs, but only a couple of blacks for the experts. You can easily ski to Italy for the day. The resort is split into 2 areas La Rosiere and Les Eucherts and you can walk (10mins), ski or bus between them. Both areas have the pistes come right down into the village. La Rosière’s premium quality image is well-founded in terms of both accommodation and services, but it clearly has no intention of becoming another Courchevel. It’s a fun place , with no sense of detached exclusivity for those on a real-world budget. Located in the pretty Eucherts area of the resort, the Les Cimes Blanches Apartments have stunning panoramic views and superb facilities. Built in a Savoyard style the apartments feel spacious and are finished to a high standard.
